Rose Days on 17 and 18 July

This year, the legendary Rose Days are held on 17 and 18 July.

We welcome everyone to admire roses in their full splendour. This year, we focus on ground-cover or carpet roses. During the two-day event, visitors will be able to go on guided tours and buy young rose plants.

The rose garden of Tallinn Botanic Garden, which remains flamboyantly in bloom from Midsummer to the first cold days of autumn, comprises approximately 680 varieties of roses.

During the Rose days, free guided tours in Estonian and Russian will be held. Rose gardening specialists will be there to answer questions and teach plant protection workshops.

At 19:30 on 17 July, the concert ‘Roses from the South’, organised by the Pille Lill Foundation, will be presented, featuring  Marion Melnik (soprano), Annaliisa Pillak (mezzo soprano), Andres Köster (tenor), and Tiina Kärblane (piano). The programme contains pieces by Mozart, Strauss, Puccini, Offenbach, etc. Buy a ticket on Piletilevi.

Young rose plants will be sold in the rose garden, and cash payments only can be accepted.

Estonian skincare producers will be represented by Ingli Pai natural cosmetic products while ‘Dr. med. Christine Schrammek Estonia’ will be introducing a German cosmeceutical line. A prize draw in which visitors can win the products will also be held.

The Estonian Agriculture and Food Board will be holding a presentation about the ways in which various quarantine plant pests can spread, how to identify and differentiate them, and what damage they can do to plants. In additions, the representatives of the board will be talking about the restrictions and bans which travellers need to remember, particularly those concerning the transportation of plants and plant products from third countries to Estonia.

During the Rose days the outdoor premises of the botanic garden will be open from 10:00 to 19:00, and the greenhouses from 11:00 to 19:00.
Entrance fee: € 5.50 for adults, € 3 for students and seniors. Guided tours are included in the ticket fee.
