Science and Education
Tallinn Botanic Garden is an academic institution — one of the centres for protecting biodiversity, preserving documented plant collections for scientific research, nature conservation, exposition and education. The botanic garden’s plant collections include rare and endangered species. The institution explores the possibilities of ecological preservation of rare plant populations. The botanic garden collects and spreads knowledge about the diversity of the plant kingdom. Together with improving the collections and botanical and horticultural research, the Tallinn Botanic Garden also organises widespread environmental education and advances people’s understanding of the plant kingdom — its diversity, evolution, ecology and importance.
