Orchid Exhibition 2025

Avaldatud: 09.01.25

From February 28 to March 9, the Tallinn Botanic Garden will host its traditional Orchid Exhibition, where visitors can see rare species from nature alongside cultivated varieties developed by breeders. The exact number of species and varieties on display will be determined just before the exhibition and may change during the event, depending on how the flowers bloom or wither.

At the exhibition, visitors can purchase flowering orchids from Rikets Lilled. Especially for this event, Riina Hermlin, the founder of Rikets Lilled, together with her team, has assembled a unique orchid collection. The selection includes more than 500 orchid varieties, carefully chosen from ten top-quality orchid growers in Germany and the Netherlands. The collection also features orchids that have never been available for sale in Estonia before. For example, visitors will find vanilla orchids (Vanilla imperialis), Gongoras (Gongora), Epidendrums (Epidendrum), Maxillarias (Maxillaria), Erias (Eria), Laelia milleri, Masdevallias (Masdevallia), Rubellas (Rubella), Anoectochiluses (Anoectochilus), Bulbophyllums (Bulbophyllum), Paphiopedilums (Lady’s Slipper Orchids) (Paphiopedilum), Rossioglossums (Rossioglossum), as well as Cattleyas (Cattleya), Miltonias (Miltonia), Vandas (Vanda), various Phalaenopsis (Phalaenopsis) varieties, and much more.

From March 6 to March 9, there will once again be a unique opportunity to purchase rare plants from the German orchid nursery Currlin Orchideen, which is coming to Estonia specifically for the orchid exhibition. You can explore the nursery’s selection at http://www.currlin.com/ee/. Orders for plants and accessories can be placed until February 27, 2025, via email at liina@currlin.com.

Palm House opening hours:
Daily: 11:00–16:00
Wednesdays: 11:00–19:00

During the Orchid Exhibition, the Palm House will close to visitors at 16:00 (except on Wednesdays), meaning that after 16:00, no new entries will be allowed. However, visitors who entered before 16:00 may remain inside until 17:00.

Important! We recommend using public transport or a taxi to get to the exhibition, as construction work has made parking at the Botanic Garden limited.
Buses No. 34 and 38 serve the Tallinn Botanic Garden, and bus No. 48 runs from Pirita and Lasnamäe.

Admission with a standard Botanic Garden ticket.
