Rose Days July 19–20
During the Rose Days at the Tallinn Botanic Garden on July 19–20, 2025, visitors will have the chance to explore over 700 rose varieties, join guided tours, and get expert advice at the consultation corner. There will also be a plant sale.
The rose garden (rosarium) at the Tallinn Botanic Garden was first opened in 1963. Over the years, a wide variety of roses have been grown here. In the recently renovated rosarium—one of the largest collections in Estonia in terms of variety—visitors can now see over 700 different rose cultivars.

The tours will be led by rosarium curator Arnet Poola. Plant protection specialist Pille Hermann will provide advice, and rose grower Rein Joost will be selling rose plants.
Tour groups will gather at the main entrance and require prior registration.
The entrance fee includes access to all Rose Days events.
Renovation of the Tallinn Botanic Garden’s rosarium began in May 2022. The project included cleaning the surrounding ponds, restoring retaining walls, replacing rose bed soil, updating the plant assortment, installing a new irrigation and lighting system, and building a new pavilion.
The reconstruction project was designed by the Botanic Garden’s landscape architect Kersti Lootus, and the rosarium was built by Nordpont OÜ.
Visitors and plant enthusiasts had the opportunity to contribute to the renovation by participating in a donation campaign to support the construction and purchase of roses. With donors’ consent, their names are listed on the Botanic Garden’s website. The Tallinn Botanic Garden thanks all donors.
