A bronze sculpture exhibition titled “65 X Simson von Seakyl”, dedicated to the jubilee of sculptor Aivar Simson, also known as Seaküla Simson, will be opened in the Palm House of the Tallinn Botanic Garden on the artist’s 65th birthday, December 5th.

The exhibition in the Palm Hall will feature 65 plant-inspired sculptures. In his latest works, the sculptor draws inspiration directly from nature and Estonian culture, exploring both the modern world and traditional vernacular language and customs.

“I am generally well-known as a keen observer of nature, and this time I want to present the results of my observations in greater depth,” the artist says about the botanical display.

Jaan Mettik, head of the Tropical and Subtropical Plants Department at Tallinn Botanic Garden, praises Simson’s works: “To convincingly depict nature and captivatingly convey its variations and thematic developments, one must possess an extraordinary sense of nature. Simson undoubtedly has this talent,” Mettik said.

The exhibition will remain at the Botanic Garden until February 2, 2025. The Palm House is open daily from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, except on Wednesdays when it stays open until 7:00 PM.
